A seventeen year old, ousted fairy princess has had to flee the magical realm of Alystia with her family to seek refuge in the human world. A dark sorcerer has invaded her homeland and upset the balance of magic with his abuse of power. In exile, Princess Arianna has a cosmic prophecy hanging over her head, a guilt trip over her sister’s death in her heart, and a longing for home in her soul. Ryan is a typical bored teenager waiting on someone to clue him in to what he is supposed to do with his life. He is a Southern farm kid with a love for soccer, horses, Yoohoo and absolutely no luck with girls. He never expects to find his future path lies with a mysterious, sleeping beauty he stumbles upon in the woods near his home. However, the moment she opens her eyes he knows exactly what his destiny holds.
As the two discover the power of love, they also discover the importance of independence, the weight of responsibility, and the value of friendship. The story contains a variety of mystical beings engaged in a medieval war of white versus dark magic.
However, it is the awakening of magic in the human realm which will eventually bring peace to the violence in the fairy realm. An average human boy and an extraordinary future queen combine to open the hearts and minds of both their worlds.

I read a LOT. And I have read most of the teen paranormal romance series, and most of them are filled with barely likeable caricatures. Thank god for a more "realistic" story.While the jumps from first to third person made reading difficult, the engaging story and fast pacing made me not give up. And I am glad I didn't! Ryan seems like an actual, possible, human, and Arianna is a likeable, relatable girl, even though she is a fairy. I can't wait for the next one, and I wish this could be published in hard copy, so as to reach a wider audience (and have the benefit of an editor).
I have already recommended this to several people, and I hope I don't have to wait too long for Coldust!

This is a great start to an amazing love story series! You quickly fall in love with the characters. You root for them from page 1. If you like romance stories you can immerse yourself into, look no further........
